The Department of Psychology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for the tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Psychology (Developmental Psychology), beginning August 2024. Teaching responsibilities include general courses in the psychology major (e.g., Intro to Psychology; Psychological Research, Analysis, and Writing; Scientific Writing and Professional Development), breadth courses in developmental psychology, and topics courses in an area of specialization. A traditional course load is 3 courses per semester, although supervision of senior thesis projects counts toward the teaching load.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology or related field (ABD acceptable at the time of application) and be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The development of an active research program involving undergraduates is expected, and a commitment to culturally competent teaching/mentoring and fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments is essential.
