The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School is seeking two full-time clinical research assistants to help manage study participants and schedule study activities for research studies focused on alcohol use and alcohol use reduction. A significant portion of the work will be focused on participant recruitment and follow-up for a clinical trial of alcohol use treatments delivered before and after surgery. Other studies include recruitment and assessment of study participants to validate cutting edge data-science driven alcohol-use screening approaches. The research assistants will work with the principal investigator, project manager, and other members of the research teams at the University of Michigan.

The research assistant will play a role in, participant recruitment, participant retention, participant data management, conducting assessments, as well as other research-related tasks. This is a great opportunity to help you gain the experience you need to advance to clinical trial coordinator positions or pursue careers in psychology and related fields.

Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and good organizational skills. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working with Microsoft Office products, direct or educational experience in social science or health research, particularly with human subjects, and should feel comfortable interacting with participants with alcohol use disorders (AUD).
