One fully-funded PhD position is available to work on a 3 year project, starting on 01 October, 2021.
This project is a longitudinal and cross-cultural study of the development of normative and prosocial behaviour in early childhood, in both the U.K. and Uganda. The goal is to gain a better understanding of how normative behaviour (i.e. the tendency to follow social norms) develops between infancy and early childhood, and also how this influences children’s willingness to help other people.
The project is based in the U.K., in the Department of Psychology at the University of York, but it will also involve substantial periods of fieldwork in communities in rural Uganda.
