Qualified individuals are invited to apply for a full-time Lab Manager (Research Associate) at Haskins Laboratories ( The successful candidate will join the Language Learning and Multisensory Brain (LLAMB) lab co-directed by Drs. Richard Aslin and David J. Lewkowicz ( and will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Lewkowicz.


The Lewkowicz lab investigates the development of multisensory processing and attention in typically developing infants, children, and adults with a focus on speech and language. This is a benefits-earning position and a 2-year commitment is preferrable. This position is funded by a new grant from that National Science Foundation and the candidate will be joining a team of 3 current research associates as well as several postdoctoral fellows in a dynamic laboratory environment that includes collaborations and interactions with colleagues in the Department of Psychology at Yale University as well as the Yale School of Medicine Child Study Center. The lab manager’s duties include recruitment, scheduling, and testing of infants, children, and adults in the lab, at off-campus sites, and on online platforms (e.g., Lookit). Additional tasks include data management, database maintenance, supervision of student research assistants, and administrative responsibilities (e.g., IRB).


Requirements include:


  • BA or BS in psychology, cognitive science, or related field
  • At least 1-year experience working in a research lab with infants and young children
  • Experience with eye tracking (Eye Link or Tobii)
  • Strong computer and statistical skills (e.g., SPSS, Matlab, R, Excel macro programming)
  • Video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects)
  • Experience with data management software
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Highly attentive to details, excellent interpersonal skills, capacity to work independently as well as with others in a complex, demanding, and exciting research environment
