A group of eight developmental science laboratories at New York University is seeking to hire a full-time laboratory associate to serve as a recruitment coordinator to support developmental science at NYU. The coordinator will focus on building relationships with community organizations to facilitate recruitment of families to participate in research. The coordinator will engage in and manage public outreach and education, online outreach and recruitment efforts, in-person recruitment of families, and development of recruitment materials (online and printed). The coordinator will also help to manage sharing of research participants across labs, contribute to training and supervision of students and research assistants, help to coordinate events across the laboratories, and provide general support to researchers.
Desired qualifications include: bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field; previous research experience in a developmental psychology laboratory; excellent written and oral communication skills (including with public speaking); excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills; Spanish language proficiency. Skills with visual design and social media would also be beneficial. The recruiter would be welcome to attend lab meetings in the participating labs and to engage with the community of researchers at NYU.
