The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (http://www.umass.edu/pbs/) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in our Developmental Science Program, starting in fall 2020. We seek an outstanding scientist with an established record of innovative research to join our program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in developmental psychology or a related discipline, and have a research program with strong potential for extramural funding.
We seek top candidates with expertise in multicultural aspects of developmental psychology, whose research contributes to understanding development of individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be active in initiatives which connect faculty across our department programs and the University who are also conducting diversity-related research, and contributing to the College of Natural Sciences commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion http://www.cns.umass.edu/diversity-equity-inclusion. Candidates who focus on African American or Latino populations are particularly encouraged to apply. Examples of focus in this area include how culture intersects with affective, social, or cognitive development, and could use behavioral and/or physiological approaches (e.g., cardiovascular, hormonal, EEG, or fMRI measures).
