Assistant Professor, Psychology – Tenure Track Faculty
The Department of Psychology of the College of Arts and Sciences at Widener University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Clinical/Counseling Psychology to begin August 2020. This position will have a teaching load of 3-4 courses per semester. Candidates must be able to teach introduction to psychology, abnormal psychology, and practicum and internship courses. An ability to teach a psychology course with a laboratory component related to the candidate’s area of expertise is essential. Involving undergraduate students in his/her research program is expected. The candidate will also be expected to serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate psychology majors and demonstrate service to Widener University. Experience with service-learning courses is desirable. A history of research in clinical or counseling psychology or a related field is also desirable. Job Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in clinical, counseling psychology or a related field in psychology. An ability to teach introduction to psychology, abnormal psychology, and psychology laboratory courses is essential. The candidate is also expected to have a license in psychology or counseling in good standing. A current Pennsylvania state license is preferred, but candidates who are eligible for Pennsylvania licensure may be considered. A history of providing clinical supervision in a community setting and an ability to teach practicum and internship courses is required.
