Dear colleagues and friends,
It is becoming increasingly clear that the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing pandemic will continue to impact society at large and the possibility for scientists to meet at international meetings such as the CDS Biennial Conference scheduled for October 21 – 23, 2021 in Madison, WI.
It is difficult, if not nearly impossible, to predict what conditions we will be facing in the Fall, and accordingly, the Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the conference to April 21 -23, 2022. The conference will take place in-person in Madison, WI as initially planned.
With presenters and delegates from more than 20 countries, rescheduling the conference will allow our community to come together in an accessible, safe and inclusive environment to present research, share ideas and support students and early-career researchers. The CDS Board, officers like myself, and the Scientific Program Committee continue to work on all aspects of the conference. We will provide more information about calls for conference presentations and the new timeline in the next few months.
We thank you for being part of the CDS community and for your ongoing dedication to our mission. We hope that we can rely on your participation to ensure the success of the conference and the continued progress in our field.
For now, we wish you all well.
Melissa Koenig, President and Kristina Olson, Scientific Program Chair, on behalf of the CDS Board and officers.
